Target To Clear All Internal Roads By Tomorrow, Says BMC Commissioner

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has targeted to clear Cyclone debris from all internal roads by tomorrow (Monday), informed Commissioner Samarth Verma.

“Survey is underway and estimates are being made on the public infrastructure damaged due to Cyclone FANI. This includes BDA parks, Ahaar centres, street lights, roads, etc. After the survey, work will be taken up according to priority basis and all infrastructures will be made operational soon,” he informed.

 “Electricity restoration is also going on in full swing. The BMC workers are focusing on BMC roads. PWD workers are focusing on PWD road clearing. ODRAF, NDRF and Fire Department is coordinating with CESU,” he explained.

“All main roads have been cleared of the debris. We have set a target to clear internal roads by tomorrow. 700 vehicles have been mobilized and they are making as many as 5000 trips per day to lift the debris and send them to temporary dumping ground,” he concluded.
