Supreme Court Rejects Odisha Govt’s Plea For Staying Polavaram Work

Bhubaneswar: Supreme Court today reportedly rejected Odisha Government’s plea for issuing a stay order on the ongoing Polavaram project work and directed both Odisha and Chhattisgarh to seek necessary information regarding public hearing and terms of condition regarding the project from the Centre.

The apex court also reportedly directed the Centre to provide all the requisite information to Odisha and Chhattisgarh as well as to the court regarding the contentious Polavaram Dam project in Andhra Pradesh.

The Court has even reportedly asked Odisha and Chhattisgarh to submit all the details before going in for the public hearing as ordered by it earlier.

The next hearing of the sub judice Polavaram case has been posted to January 2019.
