Bhubaneswar: The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed the bail petition of arrested Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda in the Nayagarh police station attack case.
Reportedly, Panda had moved the apex court on January 18 this year after the Orissa High Court squashed his bail plea in 2018.
Hearing his plea, a two-member bench of the Supreme Court comprising of Justice NV Ramana and Justice Deepak Gupta dismissed it.
Panda, a resident of Ranpur in Nayagarh district had been an active and dreaded Maoist leader in Odisha till his arrest in 2014.
Though he has been acquitted in various cases, he has to wait for his chance to move freely in society.
