Subash Chauhan Appointed WODC Chairperson

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday appointed BJD leader Subash Chauhan as the chairperson of Western Odisha Development Council (WODC).

Established by the State government in 1998, the objective of the WODC is to carry out development in the districts of Bargarh, Bolangir, Boudh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Nuapda, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Sundargarh and Athmallik sub-division of Angul district.

Chauhan, a native of Bargarh district, had joined the BJD earlier this year following his resignation from the BJP after being denied ticket to contest the general elections.
