Puri: An ex-regular student of Grameswar Biswanath High School in Olahan village under Kanak block of Puri district has been deprived of appearing the annual HSC Examinations 2019 scheduled to commence from tomorrow due to alleged negligence of the school Headmaster.

Reportedly, the student identified as Gyanendra Patasani was not able to appear his matric examinations last year due to death of his father. In order to appear for the ex-regular exam this year, he had approached the school headmaster and had paid him Rs 450 towards form fillup.

However, when all the students received the admit cards for appearing the examinations, Gyanendra was left out. He alongwith his mother Sukanti approached the concerned headmaster but he denied of receiving any money from Gyanendra.

Finding no other option, both mother-son duo approached the District Collector and District Education Officer (DEO), but returned home only with assurances.

Meanwhile, the DEO Hrushikesh Kandi said though he contacted the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, overt the issue, they denied to issue a admit card. He has asked Gyanendra for appearing the supplementary examination and has also assured that a probe will be conducted on the allegation.
