State-Level Children’s Festival Mahak-2019 Held In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Every child has a hidden talent and 'Mahak' is a successful attempt to showcase and develop the same, said Women & Child Development Minister Tukuni Sahu while attending the State level children's programme at Jayadev Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

The event organised on the occasion of Children's Day had awards for the children who had excelled in State-level competition.

Reportedly, competitions had been organised in 30 districts and the winners had participated in zone-level event held at Cuttack, Sambalpur and Berhampur.

Subsequently, they participated in State-level event in which children from Banabasi Seva Samiti in Kandhamal district secured the first position and children from Nilachal Seva Pratistan in Puri secured second position in group dance competition.

In solo song competition junior category, one child each from Kalahandi, Balasore and Kandhamal was awarded first, second and third prize respectively. Similarly, in senior category the first prize was awarded to a child from Jajpur, second prize was awarded jointly to children from Kandhamal and Bargarh and third prize to a child from Khurda.

One child each from Bolangir, Balasore and Kendrapara in Talent Hunt event junior category and one child each from Bhadrak, Balasore, Kalahandi in senior category received the first, second and third prize respectively.

After the prize distribution, the children participated in the cultural event and entertained the audience. Children from Sambalpur performed a folk dance, visually-impaired girls from Kalahandi sang a song, children from Bolangir displayed their Yoga skills and children from Kandhamal performed a dance drama on protection of girl child.
