Bhubaneswar: Following his expulsion from Congress recently ahead of AICC president Rahul Gandhi’s Odisha visit on January 25 here, former Union Minister Srikant Jena today sought to know the reason behind the action on disciplinary grounds.

Convening a press meet, Jena stated, “I demand to know about the definition of discipline from both Rahul Gandhi and Jitendra Singh. I had written letters to both in September last year. I had even discussed it at the AICC level. I had demanded that the PCC president Niranjan Patnaik should be asked to resign immediately.”

Citing the reason, Jena said, “Niranjan Patnaik personally appearing before the Orissa High Court had admitted to have given bribe monthly through his manager to a mining official for illegal mining in a case dated back to 1985.”

Jena also circulated copies of his two letters to the media at the press meet and the copies are also available with OMMCOM NEWS. On the contrary, PCC president Niranjan Patnaik was available for his counter reactions despite several efforts till the filing of the story.
