Spurious Liquor Death Toll In Odisha's Bhadrak Reaches Nine

Bhadrak: The death toll due to consuming ‘spurious’ liquor in Nimaisahi village under Daulatpur panchayat in Tihidi police limits reached nine with two additional fatality reported on Wednesday.

Reportedly, the locals in the area had consumed liquor in celebration of Elections concluding in Odisha. Later, several complained of uneasiness and fell unconscious.

They were rushed to Tihidi community health centre (CHC) and later shifted to the Bhadrak district headquarters hospital when their condition worsened.

While six of them had breathed their last on Tuesday, two more died while undergoing treatment on Wednesday. Meanwhile, more than 20 are undergoing treatment at Capital hospital in Bhubaneswar.
