Sporadic Incidents Of Crime Across Odisha

Jharsuguda: Crime cases in several areas of Odisha created an atmosphere of fear on Monday. In Jharsuguda, a man was shot at by two bike-borne miscreants at Kalinagar in Brajrajnagar under Orient police limits.

As per reports, Sanjay Gupta (45), husband of a former Councilor, was returning from morning walk when miscreants opened fire at his stomach. Gupta was rushed to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) and later shifted to VIMSAR after his condition deteriorated.

While the reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained, cops have begun probe into the matter.

In Bargarh, a person was shot dead by unidentified miscreants at Jamurda village late on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Basant Pradhan (50).

It is suspected that the some looters opened fire on Pradhan at point blank range while he was fast asleep. He was rushed to VIMSAR hospital where doctors declared him dead. Cops have begun probe to ascertain the exact reason behind the murder.

In another incident, a youth was stabbed by unidentified miscreants in Karnapali village under Birmaharajpur police limits in Sonepur district. While the youth is undergoing treatment at Sonepur hospital, police are further investigating into the matter.
