Source Of Drugs Import Tracked, Will Bust Them Soon: DCP

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police have arrested three miscreants for allegedly peddling drugs here at the Haladipadia Basti on Sautrday. The accused are identified as Biswajit Bepari, Sanjay Mohanty and Benudhar Dash. Around 30 grams of brown sugar has been recovered from them.

Briefing the media persons, DCP Satyabrata Bhoi said, “Lately, we are trying harder to check the narcotics-related crimes in the twin city. We have arrested three accused recently and have identified the source of drug import into the city. We are trying to bust them as soon as possible.”

Sources said, the accused assembled near the public toilet behind Jharpada jail in Haladipadia slums for peddling drugs. Being informed, Laxmisagar Police raided the spot and arrested the culprits.

In a similar case, Cuttack Excise Intelligence (EI) and Enforcement Bureau (EB) booked two accused for carrying 53 grams brown sugar. The accused were arrested from Cuttack railway station.
