Mayurbhanj: An example of superstition still prevailing in the society was seen at Udala sub-divisional hospital in Mayurbhanj when family members of a woman who had died due to snake bite brought a sorcerer to the hospital to resurrect her.
Reportedly, the deceased identified as Arati Majhi was attacked by a poisonous snake at Kathapal village under Udala police limits last evening. She was first rushed to a sorcerer in the village but as her conditioned worsened she was shifted to the hospital where doctor declared her dead.
However, it did not satisfy her family members who again brought a sorcerer to the hospital. The sorcerer chanted some hymns and performed his tricks inside the hospital room but failed to resurrect Arati.
