Bhubaneswar: Pulling a daredevil stunt, some unidentified miscreants opened fire at two traders and looted the duo near Bomikhal’s Durga Mandap area in the heart of the capital city here late last night.

Reportedly, the incident took place around 1 am when the two clueless traders were travelling to their destination in a car. As many as four miscreants fired at the vehicle during which one Manas Mallik sustained three bullet injuries on his back.

The armed miscreants also vanadalised the car and attacked the two businessmen with sharp weapons. Then, they proceeded to loot a gold chain and cash from the duo. On intimation, cops from Laxmisagar police station reached the spot, rescued the injured duo and rushed them to the Capital Hospital for treatment.

A manhunt has been launched to nab the accused by examining the CCTV footage of the nearby places, said police officials.
