Ganjam: A senior History lecturer of Debasthan college in Jagannath Prasad block allegedly committed suicide on Thursday night. The body of the deceased, Prabhakar Mahapatra was found hanging from the pulley of a well of his house. Mahapatra was staying in a rented house in Beluguntha.

Early morning on Friday, a team of local police rushed to the spot and retrieved the body which was sent for autopsy to Bhanjanagar hospital. While a case of unnautural death has been registered, the reason behind the extreme step is yet to be ascertained.

Few days back, a school teacher had allegedly committed suicide at Nuabedha village in Kabisuryanagar area of Ganjam district. Body of Mohan Rao, the deceased teacher of Bhetasingi UP School, was found hanging from a tree.
