Bhubaneswar: The second phase polls for five Lok Sabha and 35 Assembly constituencies was in Odisha was incident-free except a couple of stray incidences of violence.

DGP In-Charge BK Sharma said that it would be a challenge for the police to ensure that the ballot boxes reach the base camps and nodal centres safely.

"Despite the fact that there were two serious incidents which took place on Wednesday, the overall process of polls today went off peacefully. Large number of police personnel and Central forces were deployed in Maoist-dominated regions to ensure peaceful polls," he added.
