Rayagada: A school girl was attacked by three masked miscreants at Singapur Road under Chandili police limits in Rayagada district on Friday for being good at studies.

As per a complaint lodged by Class 10 girl Pulak Prasad at Chandili Police Station, she was alone at her house yesterday when three masked miscreants entered her house and after taking her at knifepoint, beat her and burnt her books.

The miscreants even damaged the CCTV camera and other materials in the house and threatened her Pulak to not appear the ensuing HSC examination in March and leave the State.

As Pulak's father is a doctor and her mother a teacher, they were not present in the house when the incident occurred. It is suspected that someone from her school has executed the attack.

On receiving the complaint, police along with the scientific team and dog squad reached the spot and initiated a probe. Rayagada’s Additional SP Ram Prasad. Sahu has assured that the accused will be nabbed soon.
