SCB Staff Goes Out Of Way To Save Youth Lying Unconscious On Bhubaneswar Road

Bhubaneswar: The selfless efforts of a staff of SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack helped save the life of a youth who was lying unconscious near CRP square here on Saturday.

The saviour Sarada Prasad Mohanty, who identified himself as Assistant Surgeon in cardiac wing of SCB Medical College, was on his way to a meeting today morning when he saw the youth.

While many people had gathered there no one moved forward to help the youth. Mohanty tried to contact the 108 ambulance but as no one picked up the phone he put the youth in his car and rushed him to Capital Hospital here.

Due to timely action by Mohanty, the doctor at Capital Hospital were able to save the life of the youth who after gaining consciousness identified himself as Ranjan Nayak, a native of Ganjam and working in Bhubaneswar as a construction worker.

Nayak said that he doesn't remember how he lost his senses and how he reached the hospital. He however alleged that someone have looted him from his belongings including a mobile phone and his purse containing Rs 1500 and his necessary documents.
