Russian Tourist Drowns In Puri Sea

Puri: A Russian tourist drowned while bathing in the sea at Puri on Sunday, police said.

Sources said the Russian national, identified as Vitnduart Sev, was dragged into the sea by an underwater current while he was taking bath with his other friends.

As per his passport, the Russian tourist reached Odisha on November 11 and had to stay till May o5, 2017.

Earlier in the day, a Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) member of Rourkela today met a watery grave as he drowned in the sea while taking bath.

According to reports, the deceased identified as Trinath Patnaik from Rourkela Sector-6 area had come to the pilgrim town to attend the five-day national conference which began yesterday here.

The sea beach police registered a case and sent the bodies for postmortem.
