Rajnagar: Gold ornaments worth over Rs 20 lakh was looted from a jewellery shop owner at Rajnagar in Kendrapara district on Wednesday.

Reportedly, the jewellery shop owner carrying a bag with gold ornaments opened his shop today morning and was offering his morning prayers when two youths arrived claiming they want to buy some gold ornaments.

When the shop owner placed the bag containing gold on the counter desk, the two decamped with it.

After receiving a complaint in this regard, Rajnagar police has set up checkpoints at various places in the town to nab the culprits.
