Jharsuguda: The path to success is said to be full of thorns and yet the end result is always sweet. The same holds true for Sashikant Sharma who traversed the journey from making samosas to clearing the Chartered Accountant (CA) examination of the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India.
Sashikant is the younger son of Mahesh Chandra Sharma and Indira Devi and they reside at Marwadi Pada in Jharsuguda. He has an elder brother named Manoj. They come from an impoverished background and both the brothers Sashikant and Manoj faced a lot of difficulties in pursuing their education.
Eventually, Manoj had to discontinue his schooling after Class IX and opened a snack stall at Jhandachaka. While Sashikant did help his brother with the stall, he continued his studies with support from his family. Gradually Manoj was able to single handedly fund his brother’s education as the family of four came together to help in stall's functioning.
After his graduation, Sashikant had lost hope of studying any further and had started looking for job opportunities. At this time a family friend pushed Sashikant to pursue for CA, but owing to financial constraints he had backtracked.
The Sharma family knew that attempting for CA would be a costly affair but a golden opportunity if cleared. Hence, Sashikant was fully supported in all ways possible and the rest is history.
Sashikant Sharma gives the entire credit of his success to his parents and his elder brother. Parents Mahesh and Indira and elder brother Manoj are happy beyond limits at the family favourite’s success story.
Sashikant maintains that he was an average student throughout school and college and yet he succeeded only through sheer will power and hard work. This wonder boy’s quintessential rag to riches story is no ordinary one but an inspiration to youths all over the world.
