Re-Polling To Two Booths Of Phase-I Also In Phase-II: Odisha CEO

Bhubaneswar: As the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha had recommended for re-polling in two booths that had undergone voting in the Phase-I (April 11) and the Election Commission has nodded for it, re-polling will also be conducted in the two idebtified booths along with the other booths going for the poll in the Phase-II.

Briefing media today, Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Surendra Kumar informed, “Two re-polls are also being conducted in this second phase voting. These are the two booths of the first phase polling. In Booth No 254 MPV 65 under 146 Malkangiri ST Constituency, we had found out that the polling wasn’t smooth. Similar incident was noticed at Booth No 63 under 133 Berhampur assembly constituency.”

“Examining the two incidents at the two booths, we had recommended for re-poll to the Election Commission. Our request was accepted and approved for re-polling. Tomorrow this re-polling will be done along with the Phase-II voting,” he stated.
