Re-Poll Proposal Sent For Nine Booths In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Proposal for re-polling at nine booths in eight assembly seats of Odisha has been sent to the Election Commission of India (ECI) said Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Surendra Kumar on Monday.

The booths for which re-polling proposal have been sent are,

1:  Polling station number 129 - Upar Pada - Kendrikela UG UP School in Bonai assembly constituency of Sundargarh parliamentary constituency.

2:  Polling station number 213 - Rangadhipa UP School in Sundargarh assembly constituency of Sundargarh parliamentary constituency.

3:  Polling station number 210 - Bahadajhola-1 in Daspalla assembly constituency of Kandhamal parliamentary constituency.

4:  Polling station number 222 - Betanati in Daspalla assembly constituency of Kandhamal parliamentary constituency.

5:  Polling station number 235 - Areigudi in Attabira assembly constituency of Bargarh parliamentary constituency.

6:  Polling station number 68 - Shakti Nagar Primary School in Bargarh assembly constituency of Bargarh parliamentary constituency.

7:  Polling station number 16 - Dava in Padampur assembly constituency of Bargarh parliamentary constituency.

8:  Polling station number 254 in Brajarajnagar assembly constituency of Bargarh parliamentary constituency.

9:  Polling station number 182 - Renti in Surada assembly constituency of Aska parliamentary constituency.

Earlier during the second phase polling on April 18, voting had been adjourned in six booths, 129 of Bonai assembly constituency, 213 of Sundargarh assembly constituency, 210 and 222 of Daspalla assembly constituency, 68 in Bargarh assembly constituency and 235 in Attabira assembly constituency, due to human error by polling officials and dereliction of duty.

Later on April 19, the CEO had placed 14 officers engaged in election duty under suspension for dereliction of duty. These officials include seven Presiding Officers and as many Sectoral Officers from booths in Sundergarh, Bonai, Attabira, Daspalla, Padmapur and Bargarh Assembly constituencies.
