Bhubaneswar-Bound Rajdhani Express Catches Fire, All Passengers Safe

Bhubaneswar: The New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express caught on fire near Khantapada Station in Balasore under Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway today afternoon. No casualties have been reported from the mishap.

Reportedly, smoke emerged from the power coach (generator car) at the tail of the train at around 12:50 pm and the generator car was immediately detached from the remaining bogies.

Railway authorities informed that no passenger was affected at all. On intimation, fire brigade arrived and brought the smoke under control. All over head electric wires were also switched off for safety reasons.

The train ran from Khantapada station at around 2:50 pm as soon as a check was conducted by officers from Kharagpur division.
