"Dry weather will prevail over next 24 hours. But, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi and Sundergarh might experience thunderstorm and rainfall activity tomorrow," Met Director HR Biswas said.

On the 14th, North Odisha will experience lightning and gusty wind. The districts where rainfall activity may occur are- Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh and Balasore.

On 15th, similar activity may occur mainly in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Dhenkanal.

Dry weather is expected from 16 onwards.

A press release from the Met stated that a cyclonic circulation system developing over Bay of Bengal could trigger the rainfall activity. While day temperatures are inching closer to 40 degrees Celsius, the showers might provide some respite.

On Tuesday, Malkangiri recorded the highest temperature of 38.5 degree Celsius and 13 stations recorded more than 35 degree Celsius.
