Rainfall Activity To Increase In Odisha From Tuesday, Says IMD

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely witness heavy to very heavy rainfall after 24 hours from today. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), while interior and coastal parts of the State will experience light to moderate rains in the next 24 hours, the monsoon activity will increase after that and incessant rainfall is likely from Tuesday onward.

IMD Bhubanesewar Director HR Biswas said that the seasonal trap has extended to Punjab and northwards beacuse of which the rainfall will decrease on Monday. However, the rainfall activity will gain pace from Tuesday.

"On Monday, interior and coastal Odisha will have light to moderate rainfall. The cloudiness will reduce and temprature will increase during this period. Thunderstorm activity and intense rainfall will increase after 24 hours in Sundergarh, Mayurbhanj, Cuttack, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh and Koraput," he said.

"Bhubaneswar will have a cloudy sky with pleasant temprature on Monday. Fisherman have been warned not to venture into the sea for the next 48 hours," he added.
