Rain, Thundershowers To Bring Respite From Heat Wave In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: While the monsoon is likely to be delayed due to the impact of cyclone VAYU, rain or thundershower is likely to bring a respite from heat wave conditions in Odisha for the next few days.

Rainfall has occurred at most places over the districts of north Odisha, at many places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha with heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur and Bhadrak of North Coastal Odisha.

Director of Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, HR Biswas, informed that thunderstorm with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph and lightning likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha and Jharsuguda, Deogarh,Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Khurdha, Puri, Kandhamal, Ganjam and Gajapati in the next 24 hours.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), while light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur at few places over the districts of Odisha for next two days, it will occur at many places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and a few places over the rest districts of Odisha on June 15.

On June 16, light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur at many places over the districts of South Odisha and at a few places over the districts of North Odisha, while on June 17 at many places over the districts of South Odisha and North Coastal Odisha and at a few places over the districts of North Interior Odisha.
