Bhubaneswar: Close on the heels of Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s Odisha visit on January 25, he is slated to visit the State once again tomorrow and address two political rallies in tribal-dominated Kalahandi and Sundargarh districts in the western region.

As per the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee sources, Rahul will first address the gathering at Bhawanipatna, the district headquarters town of Kalahandi at around 11 am. From there he will fly to the steel city of Rourkela in another tribal-dominated district Sundargarh in the same western region of the State. He will be addressing the gathering there at about 2 pm and leave for New Delhi at 4 pm.

Odisha Congress Chief Whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati informed media, “When Rahul Gandhi had come here last time, thousands of people had gathered at the meeting venue. Tomorrow’s two meetings will also be successful whatever hindrances come on the way.”

In his reactions, senior BJD spokesperson Pushpendra Singhdeo said, “It’s now election time. Many leaders will come and go. BJD is least bothered about it. Those meetings are personal affairs of any party and BJD shouldn’t comment of it.”

“In the upcoming election, Hon’ble Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will once again come to power with more votes. It is crystal clear,” he claimed.

He further claimed, “There will be no impact in Kalahandi district. In the past also, the district had been toured by many leaders. The people very well know who has worked for Kalahandi district and implemented good schemes and programmes. People at the grassroots level are being benefitted. Today Kalahandi has developed in all sectors.”

“The leaders are visiting western Odisha region because they know that it is going to be the bastion of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The organization of BJD is strong there. As it has scared those leaders, the leaders are repeatedly visiting the region,” he remarked.

Notably, Rahul’s visit to Odisha on January 25 this year was his first ever one soon after becoming the grand old party’s president. He had addressed a large gathering at Tamando Mini Stadium here and had launched a scathing attack on both the BJP and BJD.
