Puri: On the auspicious occasion of Anla Navami, hundreds of thousands of devotees have made a beeline to the famous Gopinath Temple of Lord Krishna at Sakhigopal here for the famous Radha Pada Darshan ritual. On this occasion, the devotees have a darshan of the feet of Goddess Radha and seek her blessings.
Radha Pada Darshan is believed to lead to moksha or salvation. Radharani’s lotus feet are kept covered throughout the year, but on Anla Navami, one can get a sacred darshan as she wears her clothes in typical Odiyani fashion with a Kachha on. This Kachha is called Kania Kachha.
The ritual is conducted on Amla Navami ahead of 5-day Panchuka on holy month Kartik.
Elaborate arrangements have been made by the district administration for smooth conduct of the event at Sakhigopal.
