Puri: The Jagannath Temple Managing Committee met here under the Chairmanship of Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb on Friday. The managing committee arrived at a consensus on different projects and will be proposing five among those to the State Government.

These projects are: Demarcation of Chariot path or 'Ratha Danda' as Heritage Corridor, peripheral area development of Jagannath Temple, a Park at Jagannath Ballav and development of Gundicha temple.

Besides, the managing committee decided to setup a Mutt development committee which will facilitate coordination between the mutts in the pilgrim town and the Jagannath temple.

It was decided at the meeting that all matters pertaining to the land owned by Lord Jagannath will be dealt through e-auction. A committee will look after spreading Jagannath cult around the world and observing the Rath Yatra at different places apart from Odisha.

"An Adarsh Gurukul will be setup for training and grooming Sevayats (Servitors of the Lord). A land measuring around 12 acres will soon be identified for this purpose and a sub-committee will look into this. Besides, a system will be setup for granting scholarships to the children of Sevayats," Chief Administrator of SJTA, Dr Krishan Kumar said.
