Puri Eviction: Health Centre Gets Demolished, Rehabilitation Package Date Extended

Puri: In continuation with the eviction drive, the Urban Primary Health Centres. (UPHC) at Dola Devi has been demolished today. The demolition was undertaken under the security cover of the Puri Police.

While many locals have been dependent on the UPHC, it had to be demolished as it was located within a 75-metre radius of the Puri Srimandir. The demolition is part of the mega Rs 500-crore developmental and beautification drive of the temple town.

On the other hand, the last date for application of the rehabilitation package for the people who have been evicted has been extended till December 9.

The Puri administration confirmed about 75 per cent of the area to be evicted has been completed and the rest will be finished by December 9.
