Puri Administration Invites Objections Over Land Acquisition In Srimandir's Security Zone

16 October 2019

Puri: In view of the land acquisition in connection with the development of a 'Heritage Security Zone' around the Jagannath Temple in Puri, the district administration on Wednesday has invited objections from the general public.

Reportedly, the administration will acquire a total of 15.191 acre land in Baseli Sahi, Manikarnika Sahi, Kalikadevi Sahi, Chudanga Sahi and Dolamandap Sahi for the project. Public notices in this regard have been fixed at various locations in the said places.

The notice mentions that while approval for acquisition of the land has been received from the landowners and titleholders, any objections in connection with the said land acquisition should be submitted within seven days.

Any party can submit objections in the office of the land acquisition officer of the security zone around the Jagannath Temple in between 10 AM to 5 PM.

It is worthwhile to mention that after a social impact assessment (SIA) survey and measurement by the district administration, the land acquisition process will be carried out in the said sahis under Section 4 of Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.
