Jharsuguda: A Class V student was allegedly so severely thrashed by his school’s Principal that he ended up in hospital. This shocking incident occurred on Thursday at the Balijori Nodal Primary School in Jharsuguda town.

The minor’s father Rajendra Dharua accused the Principal Nirmal Nayak of beating his son Shiba Dharua harshly. He said, “When my son came back home yesterday from school, his face was all swollen. Crying, he narrated everything. Soon he started vomiting and lost sense.”

“My friend and I were playing in class when the Headmaster beat me up but left my friend alone,” said Shiba.

Shiba is currently under treatment at the District Headquarters Hospital, Jharsuguda, and on his road to recovery.

Rajendra has demanded suspension of accused Nirmal Nayak since allegedly this is second such incident where the accused Principal has mercilessly beaten a pupil.

As per latest reports, the District Education Officer (DEO) has asked the respective Block Education Officer (BEO) to look into the matter and take necessary action.
