Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Rajya Sabha member Prashanta Nanda's son Rishav Nanda joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at its State Headquarters in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

Rishav joined the saffron party along with hundreds of supporters in presence of BJP's State President Basant Panda, party's national vice-president-cum-spokesperson Baijayanta Panda, legislature party leader Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Besides, Menaka Kinnar, a transgender who claims to be an advocate of women rights also joined BJP at the event today.

It is speculated that Rishav wanted to contest the assembly elections from Begunia. He joined the BJP after not getting any green signal from BJD.
