Bhubaneswar: The bail hearing of former Minister and sitting MLA of Pipili Pradeep Maharathy, who was arrested for allegedly attacking an Executive Magistrate heading a flying squad on election duty, has been deferred to April 27.

The court of Additional District Judge in Bhubaneswar deferred the hearing of Maharathy as the Investigating Officer (IO) failed to submit the CD, case diary and injury report before the court.

Maharathy had been arrested on April 22, following allegations of attacking executive magistrate Rabi Narayan Patra and his team while conducting a raid at former's farmhouse on the night of April 21. Patra had been injured in the attack and admitted to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
