Keonjhar: A pond which was recently reborn thanks to the ‘Shramdaan’ and water harvesting by Keonjhar Police has evolved as a recreation spot for people of all ages.

A fun boat named 'Hansini' was launched at the newly-renovated pond in Reserve Police Colony of Keonjhar today. Children along with their parents not only enjoyed a boat ride in it but also had an experience of the traditional bamboo swings on a Peepal tree near the pond.

Other attraction at the spot is a pair of swan swimming in the crystal clear pond water, which was once filled with garbage.

Volunteers of Keonjhar Police had worked for nearly three months to clean the pond and were glad to see result of their efforts in the first week of August.

Keonjhar SP Jai Narayan Pankaj said that the place is not only meant for the children of the police colony but other children can also come and enjoy the recreational activities.
