Polling Official Dies Of Heart Attack In Odisha’s Dhenkanal During Phase-III Voting

Dhenkanal: In a shocking incident, polling official Nabakishore Nayak collapsed inside booth no-41 at Parjang here today afternoon while he was on-duty. He was rushed to Kamakhyanagar hospital but, he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.


Reportedly, he was the fifth officer in the booth and fell unconscious due to high blood pressure and a heart-attack at around 1:30 pm. He was rushed to Kamakhyanagar hospital but in vain.

Sources said that compensation will be provided soon and the body will be handed over to his family members after post-mortem.

It is notable to mention here that another polling official identified as Abhay Kumar Sethy had died on his way to a polling station in Anandapur Assembly Constituency of Keonjhar, two days back.

In the third-phase polls today, voters of Puri, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Sambalpur exercised their franchise today.
