Police SI In Odisha Vigilance Net For Taking Bribe

Bhubaneswar: Police sub-inspector of Dhauli police station was caught red-handed by Vigilance department while taking bribe of Rs 30,000 here today afternoon.

The cop Pradeep Mahalla was demanding bribe of Rs 50,000 from one Chittaranjan Pani to settle a civil dispute case with amicable negotiations. Pani tried to argue with him about paying the bribe amount but Mahalla was adamant. He also claimed the bribe would be distributed with other senior officers.

Pani first paid Rs 20,000 and then Mahalla gave him a phone call demanding the rest Rs 30,000. With no other option left, Pani knocked the doors of vigilance department and the sleuths today caught him red-handed.
