**Bhubaneswar: ** A month after five armed unidentified men looted cash and jewellery state-owned UCO Bank at Bapuji Nagar in broad daylight, the cops are yet to know their whereabouts.
“We are still investigating the matter and hopeful to nab the robbers very soon. The police of other States are also helping us in this case and we are sure to get hold of the culprits,” according to Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.
Post robbery, Twin city commissioner Y.B Khurania had observed that an interstate gang was involved in the bank loot which was involved in several cases of dacoity in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal. They were professional criminals and were listed as ‘most wanted’ in different states”.
On 28th September, 5 miscreants looted over Rs 13 lakh and 1 kg gold ornaments from Bapuji Nagar branch of UCO bank in the broad daylight. A special squad was formed to investigate the case.
According to sources, there was no security and alarm system of the bank was defunct.The incident happened at around 10 am when the bank had just opened for the day’s business
