Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded 53% polling till 3 pm duing the fourth and final phase of poolling in Odisha, informed Chief Electoral Officer Surendra Kumar. This is the tentative figure and is expected to increase by the evening.
Voters of six Lok Sabha constituencies -- Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur –along with the 41 Assembly segments under them are electing their representatives today.
Braving the scorching sun, people were seen making a beeline outside the polling booths to cast their rights.
The total number of eligible voters are more than 95 lakh out of which 49 lakh are males and 45 lakh are females. In the Third Gender category 595 voters have been listed. 1.85 lakh persons with disabilities will cast their votes in the fourth phase.
Total 72,363 polling personnel and 10,236 vehicles have been deployed in 10,792 polling stations. There are many senstive booths and special attention will be given to Kendrapada Lok Sabha constituency by deploying additional police force.
