Phase-III Polls: Commissionerate Police Adopts 5-Tier Security System For Bhubaneswar, Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: On the eve of the Phase-III elections in six parliamentary constituencies of Odisha, Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty briefed about the security arrangements finalised for the polling in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Mohanty informed that a five-tier security system has been adopted in both Bhubaneswar and Cuttack which includes booth level officers, mobile patrol officers reporting to a sector officer. Further, there will be a supervisory officer who will report to constituency wise in-charge of security, an Additional DCP or DCP rank official. 

Among the 1156 booths under Bhubaneswar UPD (Urban Police District) there are around 383 sensitive booths, said Mohanty adding a flag march has also been staged in the sensitive areas.

While around 30 platoons of police force and six companies of para-military force will be deployed in Bhubaneswar along with around 200 officers and 50 mobile patrolling vehicles, 15 platoon police force and five companies of para-military force will be deployed in Cuttack, said Mohanty.
