Pet Cat Shot Dead In Odisha's Capital, One Held

Bhubaneswar: Shaming humanity, a 3-year-old female pet cat was shot dead at Unit-IV area of Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. The deceased cat identified as Khusi belongs to one Sushant Patnaik.

Reportedly, Sushant's mother was doing her morning prayer today when she heard a cat groaning. On inquiry, she found Khusi lying motionless with a deep wound on her head.

She immediately called her family members who rushed Khusi to Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) where she breathed her last. An X-Ray revealed that the cat has sustained bullet injuries on her spine and head.

Following it, Sushant and representatives of People For Animals (PFA) lodged an FIR at Kharbela Nagar Police Station. Sushant alleged that Khusi has been killed by his neighbour who has committed similar crimes earlier.

While Sushant has demanded stringent action against the accused, police have registered a case and detained the accused identified as Asutosh Nayak, said sources.
