Perennial Issue Of Waterlogging Disrupts Normal Life In Twin Cities

Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: Waterlogging caused by continuous rainfall adversely affected normal life in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on Wednesday. Most of the areas in these two cities inundated due to incessant rain since yesterday.

Due to the dismal drainage system, the perennial problem of water logging put normal life out of gear in Acharya Vihar, Jaydev Vihar, Rasulgarh and Bomikhal, etc, let alone the low-lying areas in the capital city of Odisha.

Similar was the situation at Odisha’s old capital city Cuttack. Waterlogging due to heavy downpour is an age-old curse on this millennium-cum-historic city. Waterlogging inundated even the main roads in the silver city, let alone the lanes and by-lanes as well as low lying areas.
