Bhubaneswar: BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik is all set to swear-in as the Chief Minister of Odisha on Wednesday. This is the fifth consecutive time Naveen-led BJD has been voted to power in Odisha over the past 20 years.

So far as the BJD is concerned, the party has been a disciplined unit with Naveen remaining at the helm of the affairs and his command has remained unquestioned. But the question of his succession has often come to the fore, to which the party chief has said, the people of Odisha would do selection.

In an interview to India Today on Monday, Naveen has made it clear that his successor would be someone from the BJD. "I have not picked a successor, the people will choose a successor," he said.

"The successor will be from the BJD and the BJD will continue to do very well," Naveen added. The Chief Minister concluded the interview saying that there will be no celebrations for the party's victory, given the horrendous losses cyclone Fani inflicted upon Odisha.
