Passengers Suffer As Movement Of Trains Yet To Normalize After FANI

Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of passengers remained stranded at Bhubaneswar Railway Station on Friday as many trains remained cancelled and few others continued to run late in the aftermath of extremely severe cyclonic storm FANI.

A passenger, Debasish Mohanty, waiting for hours to catch a train for Kolkata said he missed one train in the morning and the other train scheduled to arrive at 7 AM was first announced to be coming at 12:53 PM but is again running late by over two hours.

He informed that all the trains are running two to three hours late and many trains, including three to Kolkata, have been cancelled. As per the railway authorities, the trains from Puri are running late at the line is not clear due to the cyclone, he added.

Similarly, a lady identified as Laxmipriya Mohanty, travelling to Balasore, said that after many problems because of the cyclonic storm her family is leaving for their home town. But after reaching Bhubaneswar Railway Station they found the train for their destination is running one and half hour late.

She opined that earlier the trains were running at right time but the cyclone has affected their movement and they are running behind schedule.
