The life of the titular head of Gajapati dynasty was not without its fair share of controversies. Five years ago, the erstwhile king was admitted to a private admitted in Chennai after he fell severely ill following the alleged confinement by his manager Ananga Manjari Patra and PA Sanjaya Patra. She was accused of ill-treatment of the Gajapati Maharaj to the extent of solitary confinement.
It was further alleged that with the two-time MP’s declining political strength, his Sanjaya and his sister Ananga saw an opportunity to usurp palace property. However, their plans were foiled as the erstwhile king took critically ill. Later, Ananga and her two siblings committed suicide by consuming poison whereas Sanjaya hanged himself to death.
