Cuttack: In yet another setback to industrialist and Managing Director (MD) of Odisha Stevedores Limited (OSL) Mahimananda Mishra (Mahima Mishra), Orissa High Court has rejected his bail plea in connection with the Mahendra Swain murder case.

Swain was the general manager of Hyderabad-based stevedoring company Seaways Shipping and Logistics Limited (SSLL) and had been posted at Paradip.

The High Court rejected Mishra’s bail application yesterday.

Such a development has taken place when the Supreme Court has already rejected his bail plea on November 12 in the same murder case.

Even though Mahima Mishra had earlier been granted conditional bail in the Paradip murder case from the High Court, Odisha Government had moved against it in the apex court following which that bail was rejected by the Supreme Court on September 18 and order had been issued to take him into custody immediately.

Since then Mahima Mishra is once again cooling his heels behind the bars in Jagatsinghpur district’s jail.

Notably, the OSL MD was arrested from Bangkok in Thailand in December 2016, for allegedly masterminding the broad daylight murder of Mahendra Swain in the port city of Paradip on October 26, 2016.
