With this added international connectivity, the people of Odisha will benefit as the state’s tourism economy, trade, hospitality sector and cultural exchange with south east Asian countries will see an upward trend.
It is worth mentioning that earlier last year, the state government had allowed the Thai Air Asia to receive subsidy support of Rs 1.70 lakh per round trip for starting air service operations from Bhubaneswar to Kuala Lumpur.
AirAsia had proposed the same for Bangkok but the state government had declined the offer and accepted Air India’s proposal to have a flight to Bangkok from Bhubaneswar without subsidy.
