Over Rs 25 Lakh Looted From SBI ATM In Jajpur

Jajpur: Unidentified miscreants decamped with over Rs 25 lakh after cutting open an ATM of State Bank of India (SBI) at Ambikai square in Jajpur last night.

Reportedly, TSI India, the company that manages transfer of cash from banks to ATMs, had deposited a total of Rs 28 lakh in the ATM today afternoon. While customers had withdrawn an amount of approximately Rs 3 lakh, the miscreants looted remaining cash.

It seems to be the work of professional criminals who entered the ATM and cut it open with the help of machine cutter. Though the ATM is situated on the roadside, none was able to get an inkling of the crime.

On getting information, a police team led by Jajpur SP Charan Singh Meena arrived at the spot to take stock of the situation. Meanwhile, a probe with the help of scientific team has been initiated and the SP has assured that the accused with be nabbed at the earliest.
