Bhubaneswar: Around 60 activists of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) from Sundergarh Sadar and Lakshmipur assembly constituencies joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Sunday in presence of party supremo-cum-Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Reportedly, 35 Congress leaders and workers under leadership of Jatia Munda, Chairperson of Tangarpali Block in Sundergarh assembly constituency and 25 Congress leaders and workers under leadership of Rajender Hulka from Lakshmipur assembly constituency joined the BJD at Naveen Niwas.

After joining the party, Jatia said tha he was a MLA aspirant from the Sundargarh Sadar assembly constituency but the Congress ignored him by fielding Amita Biswal. He alleged it to be a dynasty politics as Amita is daughter of former Chief Minister and former MP of Sundargarh Hemanand Biswal.
