Over 40 Dengue Patients Admitted To Cuttack SCB, Health Minister Assures Precautionary Measures

Cuttack: Five dengue patients are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital along with 32 patients admitted in General Ward.

Many of these patients belong to Cuttack, Kendrapara and Koraput, stated reports. Following this, medical teams reached villages and conducted check-ups of people complaining of headache and fever.

On being queried by media about the alarming dengue situation in Cuttack, the Health Minister said, “Some diseases come up every year and every month. But, we are prepared for that. We are taking precautionary measures. The patients admitted to Cuttack Medical are being treated."

Meanwhile, Cuttack Municipal Corporation engaged workers in scattering bleaching powder at stagnant water bodies like drains to stop breeding of mosquitoes.

"Disease can’t be stopped by the Health Department. But, our department will definitely take stock of the situation," the Minister added.

As per latest reports, the blood samples of 25 people have been tested, of them four tested positive. While two of the affected persons belong to Bhadrak, one is from Jagatsinghpur and another of Chauliaganj area in Cuttack.
