Bhubaneswar: In what can be termed as a case of sheer negligence and recklessness, a kid was rescued from a car in a suffocated state after his parents had locked him in the vehicle and had gone to the Digha beach for a dip in West Bengal on Wednesday.

Reportedly, the couple from South-24 Parganas district was on a holiday to Digha. In order to enjoy their vacation, they locked their child in a car with all window panes sealed and left for the beach.

A police officer spotted the child nearly fainting inside the locked car. He immediately broke the window pane and rescued the child. The boy was resuscitated by providing him with water to drink.

The locals who helped the cop rescue the child later thrashed the father for neglecting his child. In a video that has gone viral, the father can be heard apologising and saying that he will never repeat such a mistake.

Later, the child was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
